PCA Salts

Esperis manufacture 3 products in the DERMIDROL moisturising range of pyrrolidone-5-carboxylic acid compounds:

SODIUM SALT, this product which occurs naturally as a constituent of the skins natural moisturising factor, is available as a 50% aqueous solution.

LAURYL PCA, (Dermidrol-L), is a solid product(100% active) which melts in contact with the skin. Apart from its enhanced moisturising properties it promotes foam formation in formulations without the inclusion of alkanolamides. Water compatibility and increased skin absorption makes the product useful in the formulation of anti-cellulite and anti-ageing products.

ZINC PCA, (DERMIDROL Z), is available as a 15% aqueous solution. Apart from its natural moisturising effect this product exhibits quite marked antibacterial properties. Useful addition for products to treat greasy hair and skin.
